Christmas drinks
New for 2008 is our organic mulling wine sugar and organic mulling wine spices. As a special thank you for ordering this week, the first 100 orders this week will contain a free mini organic mulling wine sugar from Steenbergs - to enable you to have a glass or two of mulled wine with our best wishes. One of the perpetual problems particularly around Christmas when everyone's socialising is what to give that's non alcoholic, warming and "grown up". For us we now offer organic green chai - it doesn't need milk, sugar is to taste, but it's a deliciously warming drink that you don't drink too quickly. We have a variety of new chais on offer - including two chais based on the South African Redbush tea substitute which are caffeine free - organic Redbush chai and organic vanilla redbush chai. For those Christmas flavours and aromas, try our organic Christmas Chai or for a more traditional chai go for our organic sweet chai. All are fantastic to banish the winter blues and all are available as just the spices as well as blended with teas to enable you to choose your own base tea if you choose.
Organic spice and tea boxes
Steenbergs boxes make a great present for anyone interested in cooking or tea. There's our popular starter mini boxes which come in a variety of flavours including hot! hot! hot!, herby starter, spicy starter and the storecupboard minis - which was recently featured in The Independent magazine. Our kitchen boxes have always been popular for keener chefs and there's plenty to choose to suit all different interests including Thai box, organic breadmakers kitchen, organic and Fairtrade sugar and spice, organic vegetarian box, organic Some like it hot and organic Mediterranean box. For tea lovers our tea for two, our well being tea box, Indian tea box and Chai tea fun have all proved popular this year. There's something for everyone interested in tea whether its someone who has never tried loose leaf tea before or a fanatic tea drinker. Why not try something new with Chai tea fun? All of these can be gift wrapped and sent to alternative addresses with your own message.
New baking products
After our initial success of trying out additional baking products, we've now increased the range to offer ethical recycled aluminium foil, unbleached bun cases, unbleached baking paper, Steenbergs baking powder, Steenbergs bicarbonate of soda, wonderful artisan organic flours - plain, self-raising and strong - from local Yorkshire mill Sunflours and Doves Farm Yeast. These complement our Steenbergs baking range and offer the ingredients to help you create in the kitchen. At Steenbergs everyone's been busy baking for end of term fairs as well as for Christmas entertaining. The peppermint creams made with Steenbergs organic peppermint extract went down so quickly that they never even made it to the first photoshoot!
Grumpy Mule coffee
To join our organic Fairtrade tea offer we now offer Grumpy Mule organic and Fairtrade coffee. This is a Yorkshire coffee roaster based in Holmfirth and we offer three delicious coffees from them - organic Fairtrade Ethiopian, organic Fairtrade Columbian coffee and organic Fairtrade Sumatran coffee - a fantastic way to finish off Christmas lunch.
